I wonder if they had been kept in the dark? Some say that it's UV light that ages them, I don't know.

Although they should have been well within date embossed on them, both the front and rear tyres on my brand new V7 had cracks in the sidewalls in less than 1000 miles. The vendors argued that I must have been running them under pressured. Crap, but hard to prove otherwise. To be honest by that stage I hated the Lazertecs anyway and couldn't wait to be shot of them for a pair of BT45s.

V7 Classic Black and gold was the best. But green & black was nice too. Now blue is in!

Tyres should be stored in a cool dark place and turned/rotated occasionally. Even then they are given a 6 year shelf life. So on their 7th birthday they are considered unusable. That is shelf life before use. How long they will then last in use is another matter, depends on how they're treated. |
