If someone happened to know the external diameter of the smallblock round headlight that would be useful. I am looking to buy a pattern headlight unit but don't know the dimensions.

I think I have a spare reflector and glass from a V50 somewhere.

My 750T would have failed the MOT last year due to the headlight glass having the wrong "bias", consequently I was looking for a replacement. I recall the reflector measured around 6.5" dia and didn't get round to replacing it.
I recently bought a Sprint fairing from Gutsibits which has a twin headlight set up but have yet to fit it. MOT is due in the next couple of weeks, so I'll replace the black tape the MOT examiner put on to get it through. I'll still be interested in a suitable replacement though. |

Thanks everyone for the replies, the one I'm looking at is 203mm so 10mm oversize. Wonder if the standard. Rackets could stretch to that

Should be pretty std (says he). I had mine replaced with a Cibie unit before I even rode it off the showroom floor.

203mm would put a 4 deg ish angle on each bracket. As they are mounted top and bottom on rubber grommets (they don't actually touch the fork leg) this could be a problem as they will pull out of position which also may cause difficulty in securing the headlight.
So you may be better going smaller then 193mm and using spacers or sticking with 203mm and using a four taper washers Guessing it no longer has a faring and the long metal forward position brackets and your not into cutting and welding /impact adjusting the existing items to a new position. |
