Hi All,
After the resounding success of last year's tootle around France, I've been given permission to organise something similar this year. we'll be going back to the Lake house (once I book it) but were thinking about Luxembourg as a base this year. Anyone have any experience they're willing to share? Thanks in advance, Ade

I stayed a week in "The Duchy" last summer.
Some of the best roads I know, all immaculately maintained. Not far away in Belgium there are a few notable war museums if that's your bag. I stayed in Vianden which was superbly situated & all-round great place. Stayed at the Hotel Victor Hugo (Vianden) which has a steady turnover of bikers and has under cover bike storage. Several superb days riding had from there. Top place. Don't let on, it's a gem not to be shared. Tony PS I also stayed in Belgium one night, when the Spa 24 hours car race was due, and the town filled with all the 24hr Race Cars in the evening, before heading in procession to the track. Very noisy, lots of drinking, and an annual event. |

Thanks Tony,
Vianden looks fabulous. We're looking for a centre to use as a base and were planning on Luxembourg city itself, but this looks like a good alternative and definitely worth a stop over even if we don't decide to stay there. War museums? not so much, but not averse to visiting them. Our lass is a fan of gardens so I try to fit a few of those in that are at the end of an interesting road, that way we share the holiday fun. Cheers, Ade
