Here's the Mille - a good bike and I wish I'd had more time to ride over the past three years.
And here's the Griso. I'm sure I'll put more miles on this one

Nice looking Griso. Also a good choice to get the 1100 rather that the early 1200s which occasionally had tappet / camshaft problems ........ask me how I know.

Interesting - to me the Mille looks far better. But it's a good job we all like different things.

I liked the look of the Mille too - especially the red frame, but it was time to move it on and get something a bit more modern, epecially in the gearbox department.

Classics are great fun to ride, but are not the best to be used in real anger. Moderns have lots of advantages. Each to his own, I like it both ways, but for everyday riding it's a modern, in my case an Audace. I like your Griso, good choice!

I've put more miles on the Griso in the last couple of months than I did on the Mille GT in three years!

Not sure what is meant by 'Classics' in this context. But I'm happy enough running long distances and cruising decent speeds on Blue my old T3. More comfortable and more reliable than the Griso I had. Each to their own of course.

CB, I suspect the difference is the "used in real anger". I have driven classic cars all my life & still own a 1960 car so have no axe to grind. I can keep up with my younger friends on an extended European thrash, them on the latest tools, if I'm riding my 1200 Sport 8v or on my VFR 800, but on a classic bike I'd simply not have the pace or stamina. There's nothing wrong in enjoying cruising on classic bikes - or cars - but realistically they do not keep up with moderns that are ridden long and hard. At least that's my experience in owning both, and I don't have any problem with that. As you say, enjoy riding whatever suits your style. Awesome Griso! I'd ride one in a heartbeat. But both can be fun which is why we ride them I guess. I say the main thing is to ride them. Whichever bike you put most miles under the wheels is the right bike. Tony

Why the need to "keep up" with anything? It's not a race to get to the destination.
