Hi all. Just received a lovely Falcone Sport that I imported from Italy. Appears to have had a lot of rebuild money thrown at it. Just started it up (very easily), and withing a few minutes it is smoking loads. Oil is returning to the tank ok. Previous owner says engine internals were all done. Bike has stood for a long while. Do these things wet sump easily? If so, I hope that is all. Just getting the manuals now (in Italian). Any advice where to start first with draining the cases? Cheers, Tony.

Ive just had to drain the crank case on my bacon slicer. It doesnt seem to have a drain so I undid the oil pipe connection at the oil pump (follow the pipe from the oil tank) It worked a treat. If your has had the same kind of Italian rebuild that mine has, your'e going to need some spanners!

Hi, thanks. I think I will need to drain it down too. The pump is certainly working as thee is more more oil back in the tank than when I first looked in it. I guess the oil went somewhere. Tony

Is there an on off tap for the oil or automatic valve? Auto valves can fail and riders can forget to turn the tap off...guess how i know

I'll take a close look. There is no oil feed off tap but a strange thing.... It was smoking bad on tick over. I stopped the engine and I went in to get the camera to take a photo of it. When I restarted the bike, the smoke went away immediately and ran fine. Wonder if there is a sticky check valve or something in the engine. I will have to look at the service manual when it arrives.
