Some of you might remember my series of posts last February about respraying the bike. After a long search the "winner" was a shop with a seven-eight months waiting time, "Paul's One-Off Customs".
The bike was collected yesterday.

The plan is as follows:

Base colour, Skoda's "Corrida Red" (this is a very bright, vivid red that does not need the complex procedure the Guzzi one does).

A vertical stripe in RAL 3003 Ruby Red will run across the front fender, the front fairing and the tank. Two pinstripes in the same colour at the side, one each.

The side panel will be painted in the base colour, with a pinstripe in ruby red around the frame, following the shape of the side panel.

The internal part of the fairing and part of the external part (what is now black) also in ruby red.

Moto Guzzi eagles and logo on both the tank (bigger) and the side panels (smaller).

The waiting begins now.

O

(P.S. I could not deal with the throttle cables as there was uncertainty every weekend as to when the bike would be collected. This will be for when the bike comes back).

Nice colour.

I'm going for VW Tornado Red for my V50. It's very slightly darker than VW's other red, which seemed a bit in-your-face to me.

Using a local (Brum) painter who comes highly recommended and a total of less than £400 for tank, mudguards, side panels and headlight brackets.

Love that Tornado Red! In fact, a have in Germany a 1000 SPII resprayed in exactly that colour! Which is why this time I decided to go with something a bit different (two tones, one a bit more "vivid" and one darker). I also tried to match the beautiful red of the V11 le Mans 2002, but that particular colour requires a special procedure.
