Not a whingeat all, I'm just intrigued and thought the feedback would be useful to the forum Meister I've noticed a couple of quirky things of late which weren't there when I first bought the phone. - I use the Apple safari browser and I happen to prefer the classic view rather than the mobile. When I want to pop in, I just open up the forum page from the selection of thumbnails of each site I've kept open when I close Safari. Recently, every revisit opens it up in the mobile view which is not what I want. Has something changed? Its easy enough to rectify each time by changing settings but a bit of a flaff. -I don't know if this is related but at about the same time I noticed something different with emoticons. They seem to work (sometimes) if I use a smilley from the sample selection on the side of the screen, but I get an error message when I try to use asmiley from the 'more' page. The message says 'Error inserting object in current location'. - staying with emoticons. This forum happily displays the Apple smilies etc I select from the phones keyboard, but most other forums don't. It very handy. 👍👌😉🤞😎🤔 Dunno if its an Apple or a f'rum thing. As I say not a whinge just curious 🏍🛵🛴🚲 |

Has your apple updated the software since you got it?
I'm not aware of any changes to the forum software recently. We did upgrade about 6 months ago to overcome a problem introduced by one of the other browsers, but that wouldn't have altered the view you get. I think the forum is set up to produce the mobile view by default when a mobile device logs on. At the bottom of the home page is a link to change to classic view. I know there was/is a problem with some smileys when using MS Edge so maybe Apple have also changed to some similar system. To rectify, the forum software would have to be completely rewritten, which isn't going to happen just yet.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for a prompt response. No don't go changing things on my behalf, as I said not a whinge more curiousity and feedback. I did the last IOS update about that time some maybe that's a clue?? There's a new Apple software update that I need to do, I wonder what that'll bring. 👍👍

If an update happened at about the same time as this was noticed, then the two are probably linked.
I've been known to curse updates on more than one occasion. The software is designed by WebWiz, so there is little I can do, but I did get the information from their help forum, which is excellent.
