Hi all, well I finally toppled over as the dreaded stand retracted as I let go. This is the first time it's ever happend to me but even I'm thinking of modding the stand now.
I've had a good look on the forum and can't see where this will have cropped up before.
I know the stands can be altered to lock out and seem to remember just reversing the mounting bolt on my old V50 Monza but does anyone know any better ideas.
I'm also thinking How I might fit a micro switch to light a warning when the stand is deployed.
Whats the best mod please
Thanks for looking
G

I started with nothing and now that's all gone

I read somewhere that a BSA A65 stand is similar to the old California side stand and it can be "made" to fit.

However I don't recall what you actually need to do to "make" it fit

Not oiling the pivot makes it stay down. 'Least it did on both mine. (Spada & 850 LM)

Or maybe a dribble of nut-lock. (?)

Mine fell over once just cos it went over centre, as had a heap of luggage on. Absolute pile of .

I have a Mk 4 Le Mans sidestand fitted to my Mk 2 which is centrally mounted and easier to use. Worth doing if you can find one.
