Don't get too excited, the resto's not been done and it's way over my non-existent spannering skills so this is not the start of one of those epic two year build threads! On top of that I've only been told it's a pre-prodn '65 since purchasing it last summer, when I purchased it beliveing it to be a '68.

At this stage I need to verfiy the age, I understand that can be had from the chassis number, but I don't know who to approach to ascertain. Any pointers?

After that I'll need to decide whether to restore it. First stage would be an engine rebuild as I don't think it's moved in a couple of decades...

Moto Guzzi Club GB have a dating officer called Mike Lacey. I think it may be free if you're a member, not sure if not. There is lots of frame number information on the net - have a look at This Old Tractor website as a starting point.
