This is a bit of a mongeral. The original V65 frame was nicked when I
was re-building the bike but I managed to buy a V65 Florida frame
locally. The Monza fairing come fitted (incorrectly) to my Lario, the
tank via this forum (or maybe the Guzzi GB club - can't remember), seat
from an auto jumble. Wheels are Targa, forks are Nevada, clip-ons are
Yamaha FZ400 (38mm forks) but fitted upside down. Universal megaphone
silencers (now stuffed with exhaust wadding), OSM stainless downpipes,
universal smaller indicators, just the speedo mounted (junked the rest
of the rubber console & idiot lights) and a host of other minor mods
to get it to hang together.
MOT'd today but massively uncomfortable. I can see some flat bars coming plus some more padding in the seat to increase the bum to foot controls distance. Plan to be at Whitminster tomorrow for the VMMC gathering :-) |

Looks like you have a normal Monza tank and seat there. The footpegs that go with that set-up are normally more rearward and a bit higher to get your knees down a bit. I found mine reasonably comfortable but I'm only 5ft7in.
Are they the standard clip-on bars? Looks like they could do with tilting down a bit to improve wrist angle.

Yes, the Lario footpegs are set further back, so that's an option.
The clip-ons are from a Yamaha ('cos they were cheap). I'll live with it for a while to see if I get used to the riding position. The Lario is much more comfortable, but I've been riding a Kawasaki KLR650 recently so the contract is rather extreme. ta stuart |
