I just returned from a 7 hour ride with temperatures up to 34C. I noticed that once they got close to 30, my left calf started really feeling the heat coming off the cylinder head. In fact, my left calf right now is red, almost like a mild sunburn.
Obviously this is an issue with many bikes, so what do some of you do about it, if anything?
It is an issue I would like to address as I live in a pretty hot part of Canada.
Btw, I'll be posting some pics soon enough from my ride. Just have to get a cold beer into me then find my S.O., hopefully she'll cook me some grub.

Many of us here in cool, damp Britain would love to have that problem. Having said that, we are experiencing a mini heatwave here at the moment, but I have to say I've never got too warm in the foot/leg department from the cylinders on my Guzzi.  Thicker riding boots perhaps??  Other than taking your foot off the pegs every now and then and waving your leg about, Valentino Rossi style, I'm not sure what you can do.

I remember having that problem on my SPIII in France, very hot behind the fairing. I ended up riding with my knees outside the fairing to keep cool. Yes it was around 30 degrees.

I did a 6 hour ride on Thursday in glorious weather on my Norge.   Left cylinder is nearer your leg but I never had any discomfort. Do you have standard pegs fitted and are over 5ft 9 if so your legs will be pushed higher onto the cylinder - try swopping the pegs for ones that lower your boot, it will drop your leg away from the cylinder

You can buy non oem pegs or old golding pegs

The GT8 Norge has shields to take the hot air away from your legs. Something the earlier 2 valve ones could do with.

I fitted some Goldwing footrests, drops the foot by about 3/4 inch which does make a difference.

Well I've got a Gold Wing sitting in my garage, but it's for sale and wouldn't look good without foot pegs.
It definitely was hot and did leave my leg red until the next day.  But I can't see myself wearing high leather boots so I'll have to suffer until a better solution is found.
I tried doing the Rossi pose but it didn't do the trick.

If it's an 8v Norge I guess it has the cat box under the gearbox like my 1200 Sport 8v, this gets very hot and I've replaced it with a Mistral crossover, no more heat

Try a BMW boxer twin*. You get roasted feet. Nice in the winter tho.
