Hello, apologies if I come across as a complete novice ( I am) or show a complete and utter lack of Guzzi knowledge... That said
V7 classic, I've lost power to the headlight bulb and the small running light ( that sits underneath the bulb). I've pulled the bulb, it's not burnt out ( some slight discolouration).
Fuse is OK and the other lights are all OK.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Simplest test of all, for the circumstances you describe: try another headlight bulb! You need a spare anyway, right?

"some slight discolouration" usually means.. it's now a Was-bulb.

Bad earth wire? If it's affecting both lamps, which sounds like it is.

I got to the bottom of it, there's a cable connector underneath the headlight. It was loose, took all the power out. However in checking the bulb out a small plastic piece that secures the spring broke. So I need to get the epoxy resin out and build a new one up. In the meantime the bulb is held in place with a well positioned elastic band.
And now for the interesting bit...

How the hell does the headlight adjuster go back together? There's a small metallic "pipe" what part does that play and where does it go????

It's a spacer that fits over the screw that locates the rim to the shell. A stupid bit of design that just makes life more awkward. Best to hold the tube in place over the screw with a dab of glue before you try fitting the rim back on. I had to make up an "L" shaped steel block to replace the stupid bit of broken plastic it screws in to. If there's one thing Italians know how to due is make simple things really difficult....I think they call flair.Angry
V7 Classic Black and gold was the best. But green & black was nice too. Now blue is in!

As soon as you switch the light on the elastic band will melt
find a small stainless steel zip tie from your local motor factors
good luck
