I'll take that on board Italianmotor, I guess I was lucky with the v7. I think It might well be worth getting the drums skimmed on the Eldo. thanks.

I have just spent an hour trying to find out what they were, but have only confirmed they were from Mark Etheridge at MotoGuzzi Classics in LA. Mark is closing his business I believe, but if Charlie reads this he will probably know.

I finally got around to getting my screeching brake sorted.
When I removed the wheel I could see the shoes had the leading edge chamfered and a large groove cut into the the shoe from one corner to the other. The cams were clean and moved freely so I blew out the brake dust and went for a test ride.
Still screeching ?
I now got a bit frustrated and decided to disconnect the arm to the rear shoe which got rid of the screech.
So it is adjustment thinks I.
But no amount of adjustment made any difference!
Finally I pulled the wheel off and went crazy with the air gun and was amazed how much brake dust I had missed the first time.
No screech anymoreConfused.
Brake dust! That's all it was.
