Guzzidiag  an essential piece of kit for home servicing and fault finding on bikes fitted with fuel injection.  Software created and tested by guzzi enthusiasts is free but I'm sure donations are greatly appreciated. All you require is a laptop and a couple of easily available leads as described in the attached link and a bit of computer know how.

All guzzi ecu are covered, I have used it on P8, 15M/RC and 5AM.  You can also read and write maps which the technoresearch kit cannot.

Hi everyone,

I noticed this is not a fresh thread but I still wanted to ask if this tool can be used for a 2017 Stelvio or not?

If so, which apps do I need to download (no idea what ECU model is mine)?
Also, what exactly would I need to connect the laptop running this app to the bike please?

Cheers and TIA!

Simple answer, yes. Go to the link above, scroll down and find the one for your model.

Thank you, Brian.

Perhaps, a not simple answer is what I need.
I did scroll through the list but there is hardly any details on what apps are applicable nor anyway to know what my stelvio's ECU model is. Where do I get that info from? If I had to guess, I am thinking 5AM but not certain since Stelvio is not listed.

Also, how do I connect to the bike using the USB port, is there a cable adapter from USB to KKL Guzzi  connector?

Can anyone provide a bit more hand-holding please?

Thank you.

I'm sure somewhere on that page it tells you what cables to buy, but basically it's USB to EOBD and EOBD to Fiat 3 pin.

Search this forum for Guzzidiag and you will find lots of references and much more information.

Thank you again, Brian.

I saw the info but couldn't tell what exactly I would need.
I guess I was hoping for a direct connection from USB to whatever Stelvio used.
If using two separate connectors get the job done then so be it.

As far as searching the forum for more info on this topic goes, I have, and hit only 4 threads where none had any related info which is why I asked here.

One of my concerns was a quick/easy way to reset TPS if it is indeed a must-do prior to doing the TBS.
I never had the need to purchase any hardware or software to reset the TPS or to even reset it prior to doing a TBS on any other bike so it seemed a bit odd.

If this free diagnostic tool does the job along with other stuff then I am all for it but there is hardly any info on which apps applicable to a Stelvio (5AM?) and also how to go about installing and running/using it. It is great the tool exists but lack of a manual is not doing it any good.

Cheers,
TL

Scroll down to the bottom and it tells you the cables.

And you need the reader software for the 5AM.

It is not neccessary to reset the TPM before doing a throttle body balance. You reset the TPS after the balance as altering the balance adjuster will alter the TPS setting.

Just checking in to see how you made out with your software project.

I'm trying to figure out how to download diagnostic software applicable to a 15RC ECU.
