Easy to fix the sensor has an "o" ring it fails so the Guzzi mod is replace said "o" ring and add gasket sealant as well the alloy spacers are there to keep the gap on the internals correctly easily measured if you have to replace them. By the way the actual sensor is £167 + from Guzzi Shocked But fear not compadre's it is a Magneti Marelli SEN-813 as used on many Fiat/Lancia/Alpha cars as well as Ducati and MV F4 Brutale the MV part is £39 ish new and the car one circa £34 .... the spacers are unique to your bikes crank so a new sensor should be good with the same spacing.... I am gobsmacked at how Guzzi has the brass to charge over £130 MORE than say MV

I am leaving this link BUT this place took a week to tell me no part available and a further 3 days to refund paypal so I DO NOT RECCOMEND THEY BE YOUR 1st CHOICE

Got mine from here arrived quickly straight replacement and a HELL of a lot less than the Guzzi part.

See Table Below For Exact Models

REPLACES:

Alfa Romeo60810103
Fiat7733001
LucasSEB163
Marelli64820168010
MarelliSEN8I3
Utterly top service from this vendor part arrived 2 days free post and the intermotor part supplied is a straight swap ...and I saved over £100 that is I think a Reeeeesult

If you have the 2 wire Magneti Marelli SEN-8T sensor that has been upgraded by Marelli to SEN-8E used on many Italian cars and Ford Cars retails circa £59 as of Aug 2020 BUT the 8E has slightly shorter cable HOWEVER a bit of digging the Intermotor part has the Same length as 8T replaces directly 8t and 8E but is under £9

This intermotor sensor is an exact fit bike runs up ok  quick service from the e-bay seller, the emk powershop took a WEEK to tell me they had none and further 2 days to refund my paypal account the car parts dealer had the part to me FREE shipping in 2 days it is a straight swap BUT you DO need to retain the alloy spacers there can be 2-3 of them to maintain the correct internal spacing there should be no need to actually pull the timing chain cover to check as long as you retain oem spacers, pop a new rubber seal in as well as some silicone is the Guzzi advice

What is the latest understanding of these replacements?

I checked the one Ken recommended and it has three wires:

while another version from Germany has two wires:

My Quota is showing symptoms of an aging crank sensor (LED code flashing when cold, reluctance to keep running after starting) but has a two pin connector like the second above.

Also both examples above have a sideways exit wire whereas the Guzzi sensor wires emerge from the top - slightly concerned as to whether it could foul the crancase.

The Stein-Dinse part is 58 Euros (so not too bad) and clearly matches the one on my bike:

look at the part number on your existing one mate then x ref it the one on the V11 Le Mans and Cali EV and is Marelli SEN-813 ...the one you have on your Quota must be a different part no. The Marelli one I recently replaced on my Cali EV , as did a m8 in Nottingham the part was £25 ish straight swap no drama ...I did get the O ring a bit off and it leaked oil so whipped it out and replaced the O rind all good, this was in the last few weeks. Guzzi, as you know, often use basic car parts so I guess that is just a different part number

The Guzzi part number for the V11 LM, etc. is 01721600 which has the right angle exit and three-pole connector, so yes different from that on the Quota https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_info.php?products_id=446521

The Guzzi part numberfor the Cali EV , Quota, etc. is 29721660 which has the vertical exit and two-pole connector https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_info.php?products_id=215475

So which variation did you fit to your Cali EV and where did you get it please?

Thanks Ken and for the PM.

I checked my sensor(s) (upside down in the garage using a torch and magnifying glass :) ) as you suggested and they are labelled Magneti Marelli SEN8T. That is definitely a different part to SEN-813.

The UKGSer substitute Guzzi parts page confirms that your EV should use the SEN-813 and my Quota 1000 should use SEN8T (https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/350468-more-non-Moto-Guzzi-replacement-parts?s=12ca663f1af93029dd0ff35315c7d08e)

But weirdly this is different from the two wire connection showed in the Carl Allison wiring diagram for the Cali EV (but his diagrams are not always 100% and may reflect US specifications). And different from the part numbers offered by Stein-Dinse for the Cali EV (who may have the fittings incorrect in this case) for the Cali EV.

Just shows that multiple sources may concur but still be wrong.

Writing it up here so the next confused person has some clues

Search the SEN-8T it is a fiat part £59 ish e-bay they are 2 wire the 813 is 3 wire as usual Guzzi fitted different parts to same models the 02 Le mans and 03 EV are most certainly the 3 wire 813 A search shows the SEN 6E replaces the SEN8T
 INTERMOTOR 18750 Direct replacement for SEN-8E at £8.93 e-bay

once you x ref you have a lot more choice looked on the Marelli site to find SEN-8T replaced by the SEN-8E but on the 8E the cable is 400mm BUT the intermotor replaces both cable length 460mm hope this helps buddy ....there will be other aftermarket ones too like Lexmark as SEN8E fitted to a whole range of Italian cars and Ford cars took me a while to get the x link from 8T to 8E ....then it was easy

Yes, I'd spotted the change from SEN8T to SEN8E

This is the cheapest I have found: https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/stark-13636718.html @ £4.95!!!!

Kinda makes the point make sure you keep the shims and do not squeeze the o ring, if you get it slightly out you will find it popping and banging
