From reports on the Guzzitech forum, they are better..
Guzzi did an early and later spring for the Norge, the later one (mid 2007) being heavier. I think the 1200s unit is the same.

Thanks Brian, I have had a read through those posts, then I also began reading that the bearing in the final drive does not like the suspension being too hard.... Wears out quicker...
I hope not |

I must have missed that bit. But a progressive spring should not be that hard.
Do you know what spring you have in there now? The later Norge one has a wire diameter of 12mm, the earlier one is thinner.

I have a Hyperpro rear shock and Hyperpro springs in the forks of my Breva 1100, they improved the handling a great deal and I would recommend a full shock swap not just the spring.
As for a progressive spring being too hard then it's either too strong for the rider weight or there's too much pre load. I weigh 70Kg and had the spring fitted to suit my weight, no way is it too hard. Iain

That's a new one on me too.
There was a problem with the big bearing supporting the wheel in the CARC drive, but this was entirely due to cheap crap bearings being sourced by the bean counters in Mandello. Once replaced by a decent bearing, no further problems. It only applied to early CARC models, up to 2007. But the internet is full of rumour.

Ive got the Hyperpro set up in my 2v 1200 Sport. It was a great investment. The rear spring is significantly stiffer unit when you compare them off the bike - but in use it just gives a far better ride.
I bought the unit from a dealer in Lincoln I think???
