Whew l had to replace the main rocker oil feed pipe last week on the V1000 well it had been on the bike 20+ yrs and having stood for 7 yrs the seals had dried and it leaked, no probs Gutsibits had it here next day BUT the centre banjo started to leak so I tightened it only to feel the tell tale "giveway" OMG thought I had stripped the threads and was looking at an engine out jobbie to fix SO got it started this morning, undid the said banjo it came out and I thought the threads seem ok hmm as it came out it actually came apart luckily with half the thread sticking out so fingers undid it PHEW I have spare banjo nuts so new one went in all good, boy oh boy THAT was one very lucky escape. .... had me worried as I was not really looking forward to having to helicoil the thread. NOTE to self use new banjo nuts when replacing in future, mind 20+ yrs hmmmm
