Hi,

I have 2009 V7 Classic bought new and have previously had it serviced by agent (although I do service all my classic bikes) have just moved to Mablethorpe, Lincs and need to do a major service including fork oil replacement.

Simple question for many but totally confused as to oil capacity of each fork - can anyone assist?

Nothing obvious in Guzziology.  Might be something here.  https://www.guzzitech.com/

This workshop manual might have the information, but then it is Guzzi.

It's a 'measure the oil level gig' similar to Griso but different level - see below. Best bet is to try and measure how much comes out as a starting point for how much to put back in (easier said than done). They suggest 7.5W fork oil

Thanks Paul (and others) for trying to answer I also found the measurement guide in my downloaded V7 workshop manual but to be honest was slightly confused you would think somewhere there would be fork oil refill with "x cc of .... per leg" - still as everyone keeps saying it is italian with great looks!

If I do get round to replenishing the oil I will try to measure how many cc go in the fork to achieve oil level at 150mm below top of fork.

Griso Manual does give the 'theoretical capacity' but DIYers seem to struggle to easily get that amount out if they aren't fully stripping the forks Shocked.  So generally they measure exactly what they can remove for each leg & then replace with equivalent volumes...sometimes knowing the volume doesn't help !

The V7 classic came with italian Marzocchi or taiwanese Kaifa forks. I have unconfirmed information, that for the Kaifa the air volume height above the oil level should be 120mm, for the Marzocchi 150mm, which is laso mentioned in the workshop manual.

You can identify your fork mfg. by looking for a prominent letter on the upper inside of the fork sliders. Here is a Kaifa fork:
