I am putting back to together a bike I bought in pieces and have a problem with the exhaust. Both down pipes are in chrome and in excellent condition the right hand one fits the silencer and looks the correct pipe. The left hand down pipe fits the engine and look ok but the cross pipe does not line up with the right hand side.
The OD is 35mm which is the same size as the boss on silencer! So I assume its from a different model. It is possible to fit a 35mm sleeve which sorts out the connection problem but that leaves me with the cross pipe issue! I am considering blocking off the cross pipe Stubbs and seeing how it runs has anyone any thoughts not all twins have cross connections on the exhaust system. Any suggestion

I think the V50 II and III had different diameter pipes, so you may have one from each model.

The V50/3s are indeed 35mm OD so you do have odd pipes and may need the balance pipe even more.
I think the V50/2s are 32mm OD as they have smaller ports and valves (ie. the exhaust valve on a V50/3 is the same size as the inlet valve on a V50/2) CHRIS
