Hi everybody!!
I'm a fairly new biker... passed my test 13 years back back only allowed to get a bike in the last 5 or so... up until now I have ridden only BM shafties - with my lack of talent a chain was never going to be my thing! Just relocated to France - and re-registering a bike is near impossible - so sold my K1300R in the UK and had a bunch of fun testing out new bikes so I knew what to buy over here... ...so last Saturday I collected my V85TT Travel from a dealer in Bordeaux. The Guzzi makes me laugh, occasionally out loud, at how it communicates and tells you (well me anyway!) to kind of adopt an Italian way of life... I am sure my wife will enjoy being on the back more now - due to the nature of the bike and the open roads we will get to use down here. Looking forward to checking out the things I need to be aware of/check/change from time to time. Definitely going to have to sort the screen out - at 6ft 4 all I get is busy air on my lid... and that's a pain... Will stick a piccy up just as soon as I get straight on here! All the best Ox

Welcome to the guzzi madhouse. The V85 seems to be well received by those who have bought them. there have been discussions on screens though. A quick search here should bring them up. There are a few others who have relocated to France on here, loved the Dordogne when I was down there (on holiday). |

Hi Ox, welcome to the board and the world of the ultimate conversation piece motorcycle. I've test ridden a V85tt and was very impressed what a nice bike it was. I hope you have many fun rides on yours.

Thanks both for the welcome - looking forward to getting a few rides under my belt and looking to see what things I may need to sort on the beauty...

Bonjour, from brittany 😎 I'm assured that registering a uk bike here is fairly simple. I can pass on helpful links if you like.

Thanks Crapaud... I wish that were so but... here I am, 2 years in, car still not re-registered... I have the bike now and it is gorgeous... I miss the pace of my old K1300R... and will get the peace of the V85 once I have sorted the screen...!

Friend of mine is still trying to get a Merc van registered in France, bought in England. Merc don't accept calls at the moment so getting the Certificate of Conformity is proving difficult if not impossible. How are you managing with insurance for the car? French insurers usually now only allow 6 months on foreign registration.
