Of course I don't NEED another bike . . . BUT . . .

A 1971 Stornello 125 has come up near me for what seems a reasonable price (sub a grand) and I am naturally tempted.  Sadly I know very little about them but a quick Google search implies this was around the end of the line for them so highest performance and 5 speed box.

But, are they any good, fun worth having?  Or a garage ornament and mechanical hand grenade?

Any massively bad traits, unobtainable parts or pitfalls?

I realy don't think you should go for it at that price.

Just pass the details on to me.LOL

I know the bike and was interested in buying it. Really nice bloke to deal with but for me it just had too many correct parts missing, one of which was the headlamp, and on Stornello they're like the hub of the bike's systems. Stornello are good and robust little bikes, my 125 Scrambler is great fun to ride.

No I didn't go to see it but from the pics he sent and the questions I asked I could tell it wasn't for me.

I have 1965 one and a couple of projects on the go.  Nice bikes, strong engine, not particularly fast but great fun.
Does anyone on here know who bought the 5 speed engine from the guy in Liverpool?  It went to someone in Rugby.
