Evening all,
My Bellagio fell over (I might’ve dropped it...) and scratched the rear of the CARC housing, where it says CARC. To be fair, the engine protection guard did it’s job and there’s little damage-if my mate can delicately bend back the brake lever!. I’ve got good aluminium files to shape and smooth the damage but I’m really unsure what to touch up with, it’s a black swing arm, a very matt version of satin and there isn’t a lot to cover, but which brand of aerosol might give me this finish? Almost impossible question but any suggestions gratefully accepted!

I’ve had good results with Simoniz Tough Paint in satin. It goes on quite thick. Give it 2 or 3 coats. If it’s too satin you can T Cut it, if it’s too glossy you could lightly scotchbrite it.

Thanks and sorry to be thick but what is Scotchbrite, heard of it but not sure what it is?! It’s only a small area but is virtually matt but does have a slight sheen. Thanks

Hi, it’s basically pads of varying abrasion levels, like pan scourers. eBay will throw up lots of alternatives. Good as an abrasive for cleaning aluminium or dulling off gloss paints etc.

very small area brush on Hammerite smooth, the brush marks do not show, the Satin smooth is the in betweenie by the way the Silver smooth is spot on match for alloy cases

The Bellagio is more of a matt black. I would have suggested the hammerite with a small brush, much easier to touch up scratches with a brush.

When you have painted it go over the whole area with Black trim wax it will even out any differences and protect the alloy under the paint if you get any small chips

Black trim wax is good,I used on all the engine cases on a Cali Stone with crackle black paint. it stopped any chips starting corrosion under the paint.
