Greetings from Italy where I am trying to (finally) complete my gear/brake conversion.
Although I have all the spares, I am struggling to fit the pedal for the gear. A) The support for the pedal rod is not there. B) The pedal touches the foot rest. Any idea of what could be wrong? Thanks el__burro

I think a photo' or two might help.I'm not sure what you mean by "The support for the pedal rod is not there."

Ah! I think I understand. Are you converting from right foot shift to left foot? If so then you need a different L/H footrest. The pedal shaft passes through a support which is part of the footrest casting/forging? Without it you will have to be very creative!!

The bracket with nut on the frame in this photo is not original.

I had thought that it was a bracket for floor/foot boards perhaps.
WRONG! |
