Hi all,
I stay in the UK. I recently bought Agostini slip on cans for my 2019 V7III Carbon. I want to run without the DB Killers. I contacted Gutsibits in England and Dynajet but no one does a power commander to fit the V7III or the V9. Will running open pipes without a re map of the ECU knacker the engine? Can you do it? Or does anyone know a way around this? Any help will be greatly appreciated 👍

Hi Cammy, I used to have a V7 MkII Special. I had a nice pair of shorty Mistrals on it (bought from GutsiBits) ran it normally with the dB killers fitted without doing anything at all to the ECU & it ran perfectly well. I did remove the dB killers for a week or so, but got fed up with the noise, although there was no detrimental effect on performance - it just sounded like I was going quicker! Hi Bill. Thanks for this. I'm still waiting on the pipes to arrive so I'll get them on as soon as I can. Ive been waiting some time, but perfection takes time
Dynatech in Glasgow are happy for the bike to go on the rolling road and they'll see what they can do. They're gonna run it with baffles in then out . Here's hoping I get a result. I'm just surprised there are no mapped power commanders for this model to run an open pipe. Maybe Guzzi don't have the numbers required for them to make any doh from it.

I think you have struck the nail on the head Brian, each to his or her own but why the need for so much noise? (As Bil16STN found out!)

Have a look on Wildguzzi, loads of info on mapping using GuzziDiag and loading a Beetle map. I did it a few years ago on my 2012 V7 and the bike was transformed. Info about the process can be found at Griso.org. Beetle (Mark) will go out of his way to ensure you're totally happy and tweaks things for YOU, not just a generic fix. Regards, John

Noise is good. I love noisy pipes. E4 makes bikes sound like hoovers. Not my thing. Each to there own as you say. #morenoisypipesisthewayforward

Must admit I like a bit of noise, but then I am more used to an old BSA and Velocettes. Noise and oil leaks come as standard...
Son has bought a s/h AJS Cadwell to pass his test on, nice litlle bike but sounds like a duck f*rting... Cheers Adrian Bristol UK |

IMHO you'd be better off saving your money & then putting it towards replacing the atrocious suspension that gets fitted to the V7. I had Hagons on the rear & a Matris fully adjustable spring/damper kit on the front - made it a different bike! |

One of the guys I work with used a Beetle remap for his V7II. He says it has transformed the way the bike works at town speeds

It’s more fun to try to ride a slow bike fast .....
