The above may be of interest to those of us still running points on our Guzzis. There have been issues with capacitors I believe though I've not experienced any. Anyway this item carries a lifetime warranty, whatever that means.

I have to say, if you still use capacitors be very careful as there are some crap ones out there. My mate's newly rebuilt Le Mans was running appallingly last year (on the way to Le Mans actually!) & by trial and error it was tracked down to the new capacitor. When replaced by a 2CV one from a scrappy all was well!!

I wonder what the capacitance and max voltage values are? It strikes me that buying one from CPC or similar (yes, you may have to make up leads / mounting) may be cheaper and better?

If you're buying a component that's used in new modern electronics then yes, it has to work, have the correct stated value within the stated tolerance, take the rated Voltage, and be safe to use i.e. not catch fire or explode.

The trouble with the CB condensers is no vehicle manufacturer is using them any more so QC has gone to pot and they're made down to a price.

That's easy, 0.22 µF (microfarads), aka 220 nF (nanofarads), and I would say 1,000 V for a good margin.

Two a penny from an electronic's outlet. Do not buy an electrolytic.
