Hi all

I'm sure that this has been done to death somewhere but can't find it when I search the forum.

I'm in the process of servicing my 2008 registered 2V 1200 Sport and now have the kit to set the TPS, thanks to Nel on here. Prior to that I'm going to balance the throttles and I'm feeling a little nervous about that. I have had a carbed Guzzi before so the basics are fine with me and I have gauges in the shed, so it must be relatively simple - right? What worries me is the reference to the "yellow painted screw of doom" and so thought I'd better really make sure I know what I'm doing before cocking this up.

I had a peek at the WildGuzzi forum and read (and re-read) a description there but still not quite sure the penny has dropped. Anyone here have link to a better description for a simple soul like me.... or able to point me in the right direction?

Panic over... I've just read the downloaded manual and it seems much more straight forward from that.

Will give it a go next time I have a spare mo'. Hopefully it will only be the bypass screws I need to play with.

The chances are the linkage will need a tweak too. I found the bypass screws were the one part you didn't need to adjust. The linkage did vary, but became more stable when I put a drop of Loctite on the adjuster screw threads. I won't go into the age of the Loctite here though.

Thanks Brian,

Looks like the trick is to make sure that I adjust the screw for the linkage and not the "Abutment Screw" mentioned in the service manual.

From the photos in the service manual (same as the Norge manual) my confusion comes from the photos showing the linkage screw adjustment with a clear arrow on a yellow screw. Is this right ? I'd hoped that the "yellow screw of doom" would be the only one painted yellow !

I guess when I start the job it will be really clear as I should be able to trace the linkage screw back to the link rod itself. Just some nervousness as I've read about the implications of moving the Abutment Screw putting the whole thing out of sync.

My manual says do not touch the abutment screw, throttle stop. Factory set.

The linkage screw us under the throttle bodies pointing away from you.
