Hi
just found the clutch cable adjuster at the bars is slightly wrong... the cable end is 12mm but the recess in the adjuster is only 10mm so doesn't locate properly. Wrong cable or wrong adjuster or am I missing a step spacer or something? Could just drill out the adjuster to 12 mm if all else fails but wondered if there's a better way? cheers!

Will have a look at mine in the morning as a comparison. Is your left hand carb rammed hard up against the down tube?
I've just ordered a new inlet rubber for mine as the one fitted seems too long. Only had mine a few weeks, but am enjoying it - neat design and a good looking practical bike. |

Cheers! Not long had mine and never worked on a Guz before Left-hand carb top definitely appears to be hitting the frame! Hadn't spotted that.Must see if I can 'persuade' the manifold on a bit more for clearance... Not sure about the cable adjusters on the carb tops actually, both mine are broken - but I was wondering if straight ones would fit, instead of the curved ones. Can't get a proper tick-over with the cables flopping about. Need to get the tank off as soon as the front end is back on...

You won't move the manifold, and the inlet sleeves have a centre "web" tha acts as a stop for manifold and carb. My sleeves measure 42mm long, and those that Gutsibits sell are stated to be 36mm long. If they are, it will give a bit of clearance.
Will also have a look at my adjusters tomorrow. |

Just had a go at the carbs, slacked off all three hose clamps and levered the carb forward with a bar, then tightened up again - got a good 2mm clearance there now...see if it closes up next time I run it...!

Had a look at clutch cable which comprises an M8 threaded adjuster with an internal bore of about 6 mm dia.. It has a circular knurled lock ring.
The cable has a swaged on ferrule which is about 12mm O/D reduciing to 6 mm which obviously locates within the screw adjuster. Hope that helps. Re-fitted carbs this morning so I can use bike over weekend. Got a bit of clearance by shoving carb inwards, but expect it to find its own position! |

Good one, got it - the 6mm bit on the end of the cable was flapping around because the recess in the adjuster is too big - 8mm, but it is retaining it ok, might try a 6mm adjuster if I can find one but at least it all works.
Good luck with the carb reposition, interesting to how how long it stays put. cheers
