The front fork on my Breva V1100 are soft. The bike is comfortable, and steers fine - but on the shortest smoothest gentlest run - the forks use most of their travel (Zip tie test..). Some through sag when I get onto the bike, and the rest gets I assume during braking...
I've thought about: more oil, thicker oil, spring preload washers, new springs..... but not done anything yet. But now there's a set of V1200 cartridge inserts for sale - would they fit into my Breva 1100 ?? I'm assuming that cartridges would help with the diving when I brake (at least ...) |

Well the workshop manual will help if you need to strip the forks. Secondly, have you checked the setting of the front fork preload, the little knob on the top of each fork leg? |

Thanks Brian,
I did play with the preload a little.. I backed both of the knobs all the way anticlockwise - (they wereset differently) and then wound them down the same amount as the one that had the highest preload.. Not much difference. I then gave them both a few more turns... but didn't seem to do much.. I have the workshop manual - but before I strip anything - I was just wondering if anybody had ever fitted the cartridges form a V1200 sport to a Breva and what the outcome was ??

Have you Set your sag for your weight . introduce your compression and rebound . Tested on the same road . Make sure tyres are sound and pressures spot on , wheels and headstock , swingarm bearings , fork oil . Never spent money until you have to lol . Just reread your post Sorry
