Yes, your warning light should be 3 watts but if it's just a temporary test lamp the wattage isn't critical. Your regulated generator output should be 13.8v to 14.4v according to the Guzzi manual.
Good luck.

A little update..
I have completely replaced the earth wire VR > frame. I have a much better reading on battery terminals. 14.27V at its highest reading when revving although quite randomly.
I am not sure how to adjust the belt (in my opinion quite loose) I have followed the little info at p9 of the Chilton's guide but struggling to remove the front pulley as the central bolt is hold it on.
Thanks

Things are looking up! If you haven't already done it,clean up the terminals on the VR and the connectors/eyelets on the cables and the battery terminals, then go to the belt.It shouldn't be tight or too loose. There's an illustration in Chiltons showing how much deflection of the belt you should be looking for and see that there are no cracks or heavy wear marks evident..Looks like you're almost there.

What problem are you having with the pulley? The three M6 bolts should be removed, not the large central nut,and perhaps the belt should be replaced.Difficult to tell from the photo's how worn it is.
I think you will find Chiltons very interesting and useful.

Thanks Dave, i was uploading some picture while you replied.
This bolt is preventing the front pulley to come loose.
Shall i force it out?
Thanks a lot

Ok,so you've removed the M6 bolts. The outer half of the pulley should now be withdrawn over the central nut.It could be that someone has used an oversize washer behind the central nut thus making life difficult.I would try as gently as possible to prize the pulley over the nut but if you risk damaging the pulley then that nut will have to come off. Will the pulley half rotate? Indicating that the pulley isn't actually clamped by the central nut and washer.

Actually I did manage to remove it and find the 5 discs behind the pulley. Manual instructions are to remove discs to loosen the belt so after cleaning  them I have left them there.
I have also taken a few picture (ill upload them in a mo).

Sorry my friend but you've read that wrong. To increase belt tension you remove spacer discs.

I would be careful when tightning the belt I have mine a bit loose rather than too tight so as not to put to much strain on the generator bracket, a common problem which can be fixed by a simple self made bracket (this old tractor for info).  I’ve also recently made a new spacer disc a bit thinner than the stock ones because removing one made the belt too tight and leaving it in made it to loose.  The thinner one gives finer adjustment.  Good luck

Ps. I also had a problem removing the front pully half I seemed to think it was because the washer was kind of squashed out a bit. I just filed it down to remove the pully front.
Cheers Ian

I have just removed one disc, belt is tighter than it the picture above.
Tomorrow I'll find out if that has had any impact.
Thanks

Would it not be prudent to put a new belt on anyway as you have it in bits.
Then you know it's sound.
