Not an insurmountable problem. Some RTV compound should work, it's for rubber/gasket to metal and stays flexible. Superglue would not be my first choice as it can attack some rubbers and plastics, and goes rock hard. Mending a watch or a camera is fiddly. Squeezing the Enfield drive into the new rubbers took some brute force and ignorance. Fortunately they supply the tool - it's the wheel spindle bolt reversed from the wrong side and used as a puller with a big washer inside the swinging arm.

Yes, maybe, but they wouldn't have needed to put in new rubbers. However, no point in guessing.
