It varies with DVLA. I have experienced both with inspection and without inspection. Important to send photos of complete bike, frame and engine number.
If inspection is required bike has to be complete, loosely assembled.
Have only applied for forms to be posted to me, having dealt with DVLA before don't expect things to progress to quick |

I'm all up and running with the Falcone George. The inspector made an appointment and came within 1 week. He insisted I rubbed down the frame to bare metal over the frame number, but he was happy then. Got my proper 6 digit reg a week later from DVLA.

I owned a Ariel Golden Arrow for three years so know all about poor brakes, as you probably found out if you were on track with any Arrows at Mallory At least Cardellino won't do more than 40 MPH I can always drag my feet to stop.

No rush with Reg. number. Dating certificate good for 12 months. Will restore first. Shame about removing paint what a a***hole. don't forget to paint to protect. Was it powder coat or paint. Did you send photos with application form? Viewed photo of your bike on other post. Fantastic you must enjoy it. I think you should cruise to Essex for my ride on it. Tea and cake waiting.

You'll have to come to Cheltenham if you want a go on it George! The frame is powder coated, and really that was the problem - the usual heavy powder coating filling in the frame numbers. Anyway I wa happy to do anything to get a correct age related plate. For now I just filled it in with Humbrol modelling enamel.

Hi Derek Just wondering if only frame powder coated or tinware powder coated or sprayed. Of course powder coat less expensive than spray paint but have never thought colour would be correct with powder coat

1957Cardellino 73cc restoration completed. DVLA registration applied for.
Easiest restoration I have attempted. Original paint and chrome cleaned up and polished. Engine checked, all good. New: rear wheel bearings, rear chain, seat cover Had a ride up and down my road, amazing little bike |

Where did the seat cover come from? My little Ducati needs one, and looks very similar to that. I think a lot of the small Italian bikes share components.

I will be keeping for a while and enjoying for local rides / shows. I have 110cc Zigolo to be restored and will probably sell Cardellino if I can handle that extra 110cc power. Hope to work up to Falcone eventually. Pleased with bike and decided to show my wife. Conversation went like this George: Sylvie what do you think of this Sylvie: I think your shed needs cleaning George: But what do you think of bike Sylvie: What bike George: the bike on the work platform Sylvie: it's red End of conversation! |

I bought seat on Ebay Italy site. £128 including delivery delivered in under a week. There are lots of Italian dealers selling parts for lightweight bikes. |
