The makings of a very nice bike there. And a V50III to boot - points instead of electronics

Refit the rear mudguard, recover the seat, ride?

It looks a bargain, well done Wink
It’s more fun to try to ride a slow bike fast .....

OK the seat's seen better days.

Let’s cut to the chase - the resto will be much more manageable with the addition of a good ironing board and cardboard spray booth. Don’t scrimp, buy the best you can afford! RLO will be along if advice is required.

Little bit done today, air in the utterly flat tyres for the first time in god knows how long, boy is it easier to push round.
Removed a hell of a lot of cobwebs and assorted crud from all over.
Got the barrel out of the seat release ( remember I have no keys) popped into timpsons and they will have me a key on Wednesday meaning the tank flap does not get butchered.
Removed handlebar m/cyl as the piston is seized.
Labelled unconnected wiring around headlamp area.
Scotchpad and wd40 on the engine cases, comes up a treat.

As for the spider behind it, finally after a month worked out where the short circuit is, with no keys the car is live with the battery connected, refitted lots of bits in areas I was checking.

That is a bargain, these are the sort of bikes bought by breakers as that in spares is worth 10+ times the £160 ....however depending what you find can easily cost into the thousands to get to on road standard ....well done you

There is a chap not very far from me, who recovers and repairs motorcycle seats, he also makes replacement seats complete with new bases in GRP
much easier than messing around trying to find a better base

Bit of cleanup work, all the grot taken of headlight shell, seemed to be at least 4 other paints on there, chrome rim came up beautifully.
Managed to drift the piston/seal from the master cyl, boy was that stuck in.
Lovely black tar in the carb, it’s had a first hit of carb cleaner.

General thought, despite being outdoors under an old bit of plastic not one single fastener has put up a fight.
