Is there a good reason to have this many gaskets on Eldo carb inlets? I can't think why unless it's aftermarket bolt length. The carb bodies are the next size up from standard - could this be a reason. Just asking before I leave well alone :-)

They are normally fitted for heat insulation, but I don't know the standard on that specific model.

I couldn't contain my curiosity so I've ventured through the snow to the shed and had a butchers. The 750 has one per side but the 850 has two per side. Go figure,as they say in the Colonies.
According to the parts book the T3 and T4 have two per side.I'd leave it as is and see how she runs.

I was told there should be 2 gaskets each side for better heat insulation, but mine runs fine with 1.

My Eldo has two per side, as did my V7, as do my SPII and Convert. I believe the Guzzi parts manual shows only one in the drawing, but the accompanying parts list has 4 as being required for the bike. It is to reduce heat transfer to the carb. If you have three, you are likely right about bolt length, but only two per side are required with the correct bolt.
Hope this helps

Two is correct for each side. With one or three, the rubber plenum won't seal against the airbox cover correctly. If you're running individual filters, then it won't matter as much, but I still install 2 regardless.

Another lesson learned! I always thought the rubber was a poor fit on the airbox.
Thanks Charlie

If it's anything like the Tonti's I've had, ditto, two per side, and the bolts will bottom out in the heads if you try to use just one, or home made ones etc. that are too thin. Therefore if the bolts bottom out before the stubs pull up to the head, summat's wrong.

It's possible three were used because the originals have become squashed down over years so the bolts bottom out, creating an inlet leak. Answer, put new gaskets on.
