Yes. Are you in the wet bit or the very wet bit. I'm in fairly wet Ceredigion. |

John, you may enjoy visiting Aberystwyth Prom today where Aber MAG are hosting a Motorcyclist engagement day.
I lived near Llandrindod Wells for a few years, loved it there. But yes, not a lot of mechanics... I do pass through now and then, perhaps I could take a look if it's not sorted by then? |

Definitely do the mod. You could buy a 15amp fuse carrier from any motor factor or on eBay etc, be sure the wire is good quality (-I've bought some moulded waterproof black rubber spade ones which looked good but the wire sheath was poor and broke down after a couple of years. The old bayonet style tube ones are good enough, if you put them in a dry location) and run it direct from the + battery post to the relay, under the right hand side panel. I don't know exactly what the set up is on the Sport, but there will be one block which has 4 wires of the right colours - red & yellow, pink and brown, red and black, & the yellow that you want to cut. Obviously disconnect the earth at the battery first. Connect your new fuse to the yellow which goes into the relay block. Seal off the rest of the yellow wire and stow it safely. Buy new relays if you want to, I did though tbh I believe the originals are still fine.
As others have said, check all connections are good including the earth leads. |

I've put the bike at the back of the shed in disgrace.

Or you could persevere. Sort it. And give that Guzzi a home that it deserves! |

+1 to Barry's comment. I've been rebuilding a BSA engine for ages, a simple job, but one which has given me all sorts of problems, and ROYALLY pissing me off. BUT I like the bike, so I'll beat the bastard if it kills me!!!
If You really like the Guzzi, don't let it fester in the back of the shed - once you've cracked it, I'm sure you'll love it. Of course, you could always put an end to your problems and give it to me |

I'll take it, though I'd need to change the colour scheme before I could work on it.
