I was indeed Nigel, my illusions are shattered.
As will be obvious by now, I'm not an authority on motorcycles.
I'm much better on the subject of classical music, I can name all three of Beethoven's symphonies, ie, the Eroica, the Pastoral ... and the Ninth.
Crash bobbins it is.

Currently not a Guzzi owner ...  but purchased this about 6 mths ago , 12mths old  , 3 box luggage +centre stand and hand guards, it must look the deal because I get more waves and leg shakes from Charley and Ewan types on this bike than all my other bikes combined .  ( maybe they don't realise it's only a 250cc tiddler.)
Not quick and no arm wrenching acceleration but the smiles come mainly when filling with petrol, 17L Tank , 500km + (300mile) range gives a genuine 32km's(on the dash read out and by calculation)  to the litre (88 to 92mpg). The lack of power means a similar lack of appetite in the tyre and chain department  although  no lack of appetite for covering distance . I only use it occasionally  but have covered about 6k miles in 6 months  and surprisingly journey times aren't any slower..
