The forum does have an email - forum@ - but if setting up with PayPal, do you not have to have a specific bank account or credit card registered specifically for that PayPal email?

Try adding 'forum@ ...' as one of the PayPal e-mails, see if it accepts it.

I didn't realise you could have more than one email to a PayPal account, will look into it.

You are right regarding the forum software, it wasn't like that on the other forum - earlier WebWiz. And AFAIK no non registered member can access member profiles.

Even so, actual e-mail addresses still shouldn't be visible to bona-fide members.

I too am happy with that Brian.

What about Selling some advertising space?  Other forums are doing it.  I don't mind seeing it as long as its done responsibly.  Particularly if its Guzzi related sites.

Don't fancy that idea. A while back I was running Google banner ads on my web pages, then got a malware virus as a result. Presumably other users could too. So that was the end of that. Shame as it did in fact just about pay for the hosting. Nowadays I use an ad blocker anyway so it would just look like useless white space.

But anyway IME it has the potential of being more trouble than it's worth. Another forum site I am loosely involved with relies on donations only, and very successfully.

It was all covered in the other topic. http://guzziriders.org/free-to-use-contributions-welcome_topic610.html
But it's brianlec at btinternet.com  For obvious reasons you will have to convert this to email format.

Having just paid out for the next year at £130, small donations would be welcome. But I am happy to always pay a part of this, not intending to make a profit.

By the way, if anyone does make a small contribution, it would help me if you could include your forum name too, but thank you to all who have helped anyway.
