Im confused here on oils for my 2018 V7111.
Engine oil: 10-60 Synthetic....done.
Transmission oil: 85W-140 GL4-GL5  OK
Then it says:
gearboxs & transmissions 75W-90 synthetic
So for the trans is it 85W 140 or 75-90?

And how do you check the Trans. oil to see if it needs any? Just drain & refill or stick A wire down the fill hole?  or.....
Thanks for any help
If I can't fix it must not be broke.

Don't know much about the modern small-block bikes, but the old ones (e.g. V50) used "90" oil in the gearbox and "140" oil in the rear bevel box. The bevel box has a such a small quantity of oil and gets pretty warm so I think it needs the 140 to maintain properties.
Big block bikes use "90" in both.
I suppose they are all multigrade now.

Don't know where you found the information, but first let's just check we are both talking the same language.
According to the V7 III Anniversario manual the Gearbox requires 75W-90 API GL5. I know in the US this is often called the transmission.
Then the Transmission (usually referred to as the bevel drive) requires 85W-140 API GL4 or GL5.

Regarding how to check or refil, refer to the workshop manual as the owners handbook only says "take it to a dealer". Not helpful.

You will find it in this group of manuals for the V7, scroll down when opened and you will find the V7 III.

Both these manuals give the same oil specification.

Whoa, aren't you guys the ones that drive on the wrong side of the road?
Thanks for the help. So Im putting 75-90 in the transmission. The thing with the foot shifter rod.
Im putting 85-140 GL 4-GL5 in the gearbox thing where the rear wheel is attached.

Damned colonials. LOL

I'll have you know we were driving on that side before you started driving on the other side. Wink

But so long as you get the right oil in the right places, all will be good.

TC I'm a fan of synthetic oils, but one thing to verify is some G5 tranny oils attack yellow metals.  The last I checked that includes Mobil1.  I found Royal Purple synthetic gear oil states compatable with yellow metals like bronze bushing etc.

I'm sure they employ people especially to translate the original Italian into incomprehensible English.

Actually that's not true. At that point there were no white residents on the American continent.

It is indeed, one of those mysteries in life, why do some keep right and some left?

To confuse even more, in France, they drove on the right, but also had the driving position on the right in early cars, that changed mid 20s when traffic was more conjested and they realised it was safer to have the driver on the left of the vehicle.

These are apparently the reasons for driving on the left. I only knew of the sword hand explanation, which might be true.https://www.historic-uk.com/CultureUK/Why-do-the-British-drive-on-the-left/

I recall when Ireland changed from LHD to RHD they phased it in. HGV and Buses on the Monday and all other vehicles on the Tuesday.
