Hi

Might be the most stupid question ever asked, might not. 

Fitting the UJ and just seen one end is smooth and the other has a sorta thread lines around it. 

Here it comes

Are they ended or is it just me and it goes on the splines either way.

Try it if it is "ended" it will only fit 1 way if not it will fit either way

Just found some thing on Gutsibits site that say red mark to gearbox on their new ones so presumably mine has a yellow mark so I’ll bungit on that way. 

Perhaps red is the new yellow.

Sorted it, only one end fits the new bearing carrier.

No, the main tool is the BA (big 'ammer). But sometimes you need the BBA.
