Has anyone fitted a rose jointed gear linkage to their loop? Mine has so much slack it's ridiculous. How does it work, never done one before so don't know where to start.

I have. http://www.thisoldtractor.com/moto_guzzi_loopframe_transmission_-_reverse_the_shift_pattern_by_relocating_the_shift_arm.html

Does the lower picture help? Though I wouldn't use all thread stud. You can buy the joints,8mm female thread, from Simply Bearings and their like. The stud you will possibly get from Ebay, I used a cylinder head stud from some lightweight two stroke. The holes that the two fixing bolts pass through are 6mm. The rubber boots are optional.
Best of luck.

Perfect Dave, I have just spent days studying wiring instructions on Greg's site, but it never crossed my mind to look for this mod. I don't know why, I use his site as first stop for most things.

Thanks John.

I think between Guzziology and This Old Tractor the Loop models are covered in just about every particular.

Been using the same set-up as Greg for at least a decade on my '69 Ambo and will be doing the same on my '69 V700.

Alternatively, you can drill the arms and clevises out to 5/16" and fit oversized pins. I use these from McMaster-Carr: http://www.mcmaster.com/92390A212
