Never have ever understood Guzzi's lack of marketing, and the reluctance to make affordable and useable regalia, customising parts etc for a marque that has been around since 1921 with a history many manufacturers would fight for and with a logo that is a gift. Over the years I have looked for items of Clothing NONE of the factory range has come close their T shirts, Hoodies etc were expensive and questionable quality. The Guzzi Club had much better quality T shirts and Hoodies as well as paddock jackets ..... When you compare value and quality to other makers like Harley, Triumph and others, I bought a Triumph waterproof jacket, quality was superb and price was not ott either ......I even got some Guzzi riders T/Hoodie etc that can be made to order, reasonable price and they last well did the same with MGCGB on them those are now over 10 yrs old still in decent condition

Right on hun Piaggio are interested in flogging scooters .... sadly they seem to ignore what could be a real force ....Have to say the 1400 is a great bike to ride, the other bikes in the range really deserve more exposure ......

I understand that Harley probably make a loss on their bikes and make gains on their accessories and clothing

I didn’t bother going to the show, even though I’m London based, lack of interest I suppose although they always seem to be the same. I’m getting old.

But I do like the bike shed shows. Lots of variety, much unrideable stuff but full of ideas and innovation. Not to mention beards sharp haircuts and tattoos

Just lacking the finesses of an ironing board

Was the stand run by Piaggio/Guzzi, or is it a local dealer?

Well remember the oold NEC Shows where the Importer gave Guzzi Club Members free tickets as long as they spent time on the stand, He said we sold way more bikes than any of the sales staff ...One year i got talking to a chap and his wife to be told they had come back and placed orders for a Cali and Nevada his n hers as she could fit the Nevada and they could then afford 2 new bikes as opposed to a new one and used one for the Wife. Actually bumped into them later the next year on their bikes at a Rally they were totally chuffed both enjoying their new bikes ...... Was a while ago as the Daytona sport was the new bike and either that year or around then the Ippogiffo made a brief appearance I well remember the checkered tape around it ....It seemed back then Guzzi well the Importers made an effort to have a decent range of bikes for folk to look at sit on and make a decision....

Used to do that all the time when I was involved in the Norton club. Saved them a fortune in staffing the stand, and they had people on the stand who knew what they were talking about.
They even gave us a little present at the end of the week.

How things have changed.
