Just been posted on Ebay.

I’ve reported a couple of new Guzzi adverts from ebay. The tell tale is that the starting bid is often just a quid, and the same cut and paste description is used asking to deal direct with an email. The main ad often shows collection location as UK. (No other detail). I’m sure it’s a genuine account that been hacked.

Yeah there were 3 or 4 LMs on the other night, all on the same scam.

And Ive just done a search for recent ads for Ducatis and there are loads on there.

The backgrounds are always different so just pics lifted from other ads.

Just report to eBay. It only takes a couple of ticks via the 'Report this item' link. They are getting pretty good at taking them down fast, but heaven knows why - if we can - they can't detect them.

The format is always the same, and if the price/starting bid ain't a big enough clue, then the "selling for a friend, contact this email, and here's my ridiculous buy it now price" should clinch it for even the least eBay-savvy.

And yes, they almost certainly *are* legitimate, but hijacked accounts.  Never use the same email/password combo for any accounts that are even remotely finance (or reputation) oriented.

Just finished doing that, all 12 or so of them. I only posted on here for those not used to Ebay or aware of such scams.

Anyone know how to report an account rather than dozens of ads??

Ive since rechecked and the two Guzzis which are still listed, have been readvertised again, using same pics, different account though

"Anyone know how to report an account rather than dozens of ads??"

I've not found a simple way to "report this account as hacked", sadly. But I routinely report any Moto Guzzi listing that are patently iffy, and eBay often (but not always) seems to react by taking down all recent listings for that account.

No good contacting the Seller, of course, because they won't be getting their emails...

Ha ha ha
I put up this comment on each of the two new Guzzi ads....

“I think that this account has been hacked and this is one of several fraudulent adverts“

Hey presto..

They’ve disappeared.

Trouble is, I don’t really want the fraudster to get all careful and post real looking ads when ch are harder to spot.
