No significant effect on average mpg as far as I can tell.

Have you done the cylinder head temp sensor mod.IE fill the plastic plug full of copper grease so it actually works

Hi New to the site and have recently bought a 2016 stevio very happy with it other than the low speed/revs jerky response sometimes missfires and lots of overrun back firing. Interested in the efi mod metioned in ths page it says "The OP ( Pupton ) is Dave who actually sells these" not sure how to contact him about this so any advice or any other help gratefully received. I am based in the northwest near Chorley (Preston). thanks in anticipation Rich

i fitted one of Daves original units to my Norge 5 years ago - completely changed the bike and no problems with stuttering at slow speed etc since

it might be worth thinking about remapping it - a guy called beetle  produced maps later that are claimed by others to have solved the problem

Great had a quick look sounds like its just what i want but might be out of my ability to do the re map as have non of the cables or software to perform a TPS reset and auto learning parameters reset etc. Does anyone know somebody who can do this preferably in the North west but happy to travel some distance to sort it?a
TPS reset and also an auto-learning parameters reset.

Even if you had to buy a cheap used Laptop, it'd still be way cheaper than paying someone else to do it.
You could do it as many times as you want as well, for no extra outlay.
You should do a Throttle Balance at least once a year, and the TPS reset, etc.

Maps can be had for free, the Cables to connect Laptop to the Bike are around £26-30.

All those plug-n-play boxes do is crudely richen the mixture, which can lead to long-term damage due to excess fuel washing the Oil film off the Cylinder Walls.

They also cost loads more than doing a remap.

The way I look at it is this;

If you had a sharp Stone in your Boot, making it uncomfortable to walk, do you;
A. Put on a couple of extra thick Socks to minimise the discomfort (the plug-in box)?
B. Take the Stone out of your Boot (the Re-Map)?

It's not difficult to do, and you can't mess anything up, it'll either load, or it won't.
It does look a bit daunting at first, but once you've done one, you'll wonder why you hesitated.

Well going for it have just ordered the leads but very daunted by Beetles Thread and cant see where you can get the maps for free? I see there is a link to get a remap at http://www.griso.org
for $100 but cant find free maps anywhere. I so hope i can sort this as love the bike but hate the rough running at low revs/Speed 3000 rpm seems to be the worst spot which is 50 in top so all thoughs lovelt 50mph road works are a nightmare!!Cry

Hi - I applied the mapping to my Griso last year - it really improved the bottom end and I think smoothed out the engine braking when closing the throttle.

I have the cables, assuming yours are the same as my '70 Griso 1100 etc so can help out if you want to buy the mapping for your bike and come over to Harrogate one weekend. I'll probably need a couple of weeks notice as I often do stuff :-)

Cheers
