Just as well I was, I would have starved to death in the meantime.

And I still don't know why I'm on their list, having checked all the information available, apart from my age.
Also suddenly started getting daily text messages from the NHS Coronavirus service asking the same.

They must have just got it up and running, we had the same call this morning. Bit slow eh?

Be fair, people only just got to work and found the (printed) memo in their in-box. Meanwhile, where we were (23 pages in, and wonderfully anywhere but the subject matter).   (o:

Not quite that simple Barry.
We have my 91 yo mother in law living with us. She didn't get any letter from the NHS, but has had a weekly phone call from the local council from week 2.
This was a different lady, and they were all working from home.

Also, please note that you've now taken this thread on-topic. Shameful   (o;

Well a number of you were right to warn me and even more annoyingly SWMBO has been proven right. She said I was guaranteed to catch it. Came home from volunteering on Monday feeling crap but just thought it was general fatigue. By Tuesday morning had a cough, tested on Wednesday and just received the positive result. Fortunately, I am now also feeling somewhat better although naturally the family are behaving according to their normal behaviour which is completely ignoring me unless they want money or something technical doing. I am living in the garage during the day, but don't feel like doing very much and in the isolation bedroom at night. Luckily, no one else has symptoms (yet😕). I won't hear the end of it if anyone else in the household catches a dose. If they do, I just hope it is relatively mild like me.

Sorry to hear that Chris, I hope the symptoms aren't too bad and that you recover soon. In the meantime hide your wallet and claim that you have lost it and that your lack of concentration precludes you from doing. anything technical.
I self-tested several days ago as part of an NHS survey. They picked a lot of names out of a hat to send test kits to; I being one of them.(How come I never win a raffle )The test showed up negative but it's a bit like an MOT test,OK on the day, but what about tomorrow?

Get well soon!

Oh my goodness, V7CHris. Hope your symptoms are light, and brief, and that your recovery is easy.

Oh dear Chris, look after yourself. Hopefully you might be over the worst.

There is a good chance others will also get it, so 15 days of not going out for all the household now, just in case.
Brian.

Thanks all. So far it felt like a couple of days of influenza. Definitely feeling better this evening, so on the mend I hope. We will be following the isolation rules to the letter. Fortunately, a family member will be able to drop off supplies at the doorstep. Not one drop of red wine has passed my lips since Monday which is very rare. I almost fancy a glass now so I am taking that as a good sign.

Awful news Chris,  I hope you shake it off pronto, and that the family remains in the clear. Keep your spirits up - music, sunshine, drugs, hell -- anything that helps..

Sounds like your on the mend Chris.
I don't know if I posted my symptoms on here or somewere else. But I had suspected Heart issues on March 23rd. As I had a fever and a racing heart beat. I felt like I was going to die as I couldn't catch my breath the first day. I ended up in Hospital for a very breif stay. My heart rate slowed down again so they sent me home as they were gearing up for covid. A few days later I was told it was probably Covid and to isolate for 14 days. Watch out for the fatigue its a bastard.

Sorry to hear this Chris, but glad you seem to have kicked it. At least you have a clear conscience, you stepped up to the plate. Good luck

Thanks again. Pretty much symptom free this morning, but just to be on the safe side, think I'll drive up to Durham and drop the family off to be looked after by my sister whilst I get reacquainted with Aldis wine listWink
