Whilst I am on about that LM2.

Mine has a similar humpy seat. Was that stock, or option?

Did the LM2 ever come with the rubber seat as per LM1

I had one, bought it as an aftermarket, pattern seat, type of thing. Not original Guzzi I don't think.

Looks pretty good but took me a moment to find the proper photos.  Initially looked like he hadn't bothered.  £8k though?!

does anyone know about, or is planning a run out to a meeting to try get a few C&H Le Mans together over the spring / summer.

Also, spotted another C&H Le Mans II in the M and S Motorcycles showroom in Newcastle.   Not for sale, apparently belongs to the owner, but doesn't look like it's been ridden for a while though.

how often / what nights are Italian nights at Ace.  Might be a plan, not too far away from me.

Slight technical hitch at the moment though, no exhausts. Sent them off for ceramic coating, only to find out one is rusted almost beyond repair.
New Lafranconis on order (Gutsibits), 3 -4 week lead-time.
Also need to rebuild & repaint the shocks, and get some repairs done on lower fairing.
Gonna be a few weeks Confused

Hello all. Some information about the black and gold LM IIs. I've spent some time trawling the DVLA website and tabulating information about all the Coburn & Hughes UNM ***W registered bikes. It makes interesting reading - I own UNM197W (a B&G LM) and it looks like there's a big block of B&G LMs from UNM143W to UNM200W. There are others that could be LMIIs in the UNM series and it's interesting that some of them (including most of a block from UNM318W to UNM333W ) were never retaxed after 1/9/81. This leads me to think that some of the bikes were registered by C&H and then reregistered before sale. I suspect that some of the bikes sold by other dealers were thus treated.

On another point, the stories around the origin of the B&G series sometimes claim they were a batch that was damaged and repainted. This doesn't hold water - all the B&Gs I've seen have very high frame numbers mine is VE241** and I've seen others up to VE24400. I suspect that the story that they were painted to clear stock in advance of the LM III is much more credible. The fact that some lasted until 1982 before being registered shows that demand tailed right off. I'd be interested to know how much the "last" B&G was sold for in 1982......
Le Mans II, SPIII, 750 superMonza, 125 Co-Uno

One day, I'll think of a decent signature.

I recall a post (perhaps on here?) that suggested that, for financial reasons?, C&H had to pre-register a pile of bikes, and thus the initial registration plates for the C&H black&golds were something of a common factor.

Hi, I thought C&H repainted the last of the LMII's as B&G 'coz the MkIII was released & on sale and they couldn't sell the remaining MkII's already in-country. I bought mine from Oxford M/cycle Engineers in Oct '81 with an SUD... reg. I still have it, although it's now a box of bits with a disgustingly low milage of which I'm ashamed; maybe this winter!!!
