Under European law having the servicing done by an independent garage will not invalidate your warranty provided they use OEM quality parts and are a bona fide business. Independents can also stamp the service book.
What happens after Brexit seems a bit vague though

But it must be a VAT registered company. Don't ask me why.

yes - this is called Block Exemption
allowing any garage to service your car/vehicle and stamp your book. they must use "reputable "parts and a lot of independents cover this by using OE parts.
this gives the customer the option of main dealer service around £100 per hour or independent at around £60 ish.
the problems sometimes are the software needed by the garage to interrogate the ECU's etc
my local guzzi dealer is £85 per hour I think and my local bike chap cannot get into the PIAGGIO/GUZZI software to turn the spanner/service indicator off.
as a technician myself and having serviced all my bikes myself over the past 50 odd years , I reckon I am technically competent to do it myself but needed the book stamped for the first 2 years to satisfy warranty etc.
fortunately , I found a guzzi dealer who was wiling and sensible enough to do certain tasks on the bike to enable them to charge a sensible figure and stamp the book!! and keep my wallet happy!!

Yes, I briefly, having had a rush of blood to the head, pondered the wisdom of buying a new Guzzi. On reflection I decided that the greater wisdom would be to keep the old ones.

I moved away from Guzzis after experiencing the high maintenance cost on a newish machines, long wait for parts and regularly closing dealerships.

Still miss the Bellagio though! Wink
