The Club Forum on Facebook denied me a link to this protest as it is deemed political. Hopefully I'll be able to post this here.
So basically Hackney is aiming to increase the parking fees to basically a small car price. The idea is that these costs will encourage riders to think ov something more environmentally friendly. It's coming to a borough/town near you. Tell your riding buddies. Spread the word. Come to Hackney and cause them to think again. And of course bring extra pollution on.... Down in Kent, bikes are (currently) considered to be a good thing, and parking is free in many places.
Perhaps one for MAG to have a go at?

As Brian says, Hackney is basically a Soviet Republik run by a posh University debating society. If they weren't trying to ban private vehicles they'd be putting up statues of Kim Jong-Un and declaring themselves a nuclear free navigation zone for dolphins.
I won't be going to said area. I haven't set foot in Leeds since 2019. I refuse to work inside the M25. I have no idea what sort of business cannot be conducted away from these places so all this will do is create a circular flow of cash from key employees demanding wage increases to cover the charges to businesses raising their prices to the councils having greater costs and less income. Why else would out of town and online shopping now be the default? Andy

MAG are on it.
Councils in all other areas may use this model, so even living outside the M25 you may be affected at sometime in the future. Cheers Min

I read today that the government have scraped the parking charges reforms that they introduced not long back, so now parking companies can fleece you for whatever they choose, again,
