I have decided (rather reluctantly) to move my lovely Norge on, to finance another bike. My private reg' cannot be transfered to the Cali, due to it's age, so I am offering it for sale. GE05 GUZ is available for £250.00.

What are the restrictions - Could it be transferred to a 1992 bike, or a 2005 vehicle?

Simply put, any plate transferred cannot make a vehicle appear younger than it is.

Eg the plate being sold appertains to a period from September 2004 until March 2005 therefore you cannot put it on your 1992 bike but you could put it on a vehicle reg after Sep 2004 even one that was originally a 2016 plate

Any registration number cannot appear to make a vehicle look newer than it actually is. Therefore, this registration number could not be transferred to any vehicle registered before 2005 (05). To avoid any doubt, visit the DVLA website.

One hasn't previously considered owning ones personal reg. Plate, but when one is a person of ones calibre, perhaps it's something that one should contemplate, eh, Tarkers?
Shame I couldn't put it on me 750, but it makes sense I suppose. Trouble is, I was just about to order a new helmet and jacket....... Decisions, decisions!

It's the spats that one finds troublesome, and the plus fours have a tendency to get sucked into the carbs.

I have advertised this now on Carreg.co.uk. They have control over it's sale, and they have valued it at £699. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Why are you selling it if you don't mind me asking?

My Norge, which this reg' is on, is for sale. My Cali' is too old to put the plate on. I am considering a non Guzzi bike as replacement so it wouldn't work on that either.

Okay. I used to be a Honda man pretty much through and through. ST1100 pan euro, loved it, then decided to have a Gold Wing. Had it 9 years and loved every minute. Also delved into the sports bike thing and bought one of the last carburettor Fireblades. So Gold Wing and Fire Blade in the garage - chalk and cheese - revelled in the difference between those two - great. Mood swings or what? ! My wife would go pillion any time on the 'wing, well let's face it, if you've got somewhere to rest your G & T when the going gets tough it's a 'no brainer' is it? Meanwhile I was thoroughly enjoying my new found freedom on the 'blade. Best of both worlds, yes. So, when I decided that a 1/3 ton plus bike was getting a bit much for my old legs (sorry, 'old legs'), it was a case of what to replace it with. Now, going back to my early biking days, I always kind of liked those bikes with the sticky out cylinder heads. The Norge appealed, so having carried out considerable research, which lead me to this very site, I found what I thought would be a good replacement for the 'wing. I couldn't afford to buy the low mileage Norge I had in my sights without parting with both the Honda's, so that's what I did. Riding the Norge home from Grimsby, I had decided it was the bike for me. 325 miles on a Fireblade (Chiropractor on stand-by) and 325 miles back home on my new aquisition. Sorted. Did some serious, but local, miles on it and loved it, but, unfortunately Mrs Goose didn't share my enthusiasm. Spoilt her on the Gold Wing hadn't I? So what to do now? Found a nice comfy old Cali', which she is happy on (and being a Caroline, her 'family' name is Cally) so all is well with the world. But for me it's back to the chalk and cheese syndrome - sports bike calling again, Italian of course!!
