I've only posted here a couple of times, to announce my purchase of a 1996 California and then more recently to discuss problems with my DIY 48k service ("there's 4 more in the middle"Big smile).

Truth is I'm not using it much, I don't know why. I bought it for touring but then bought a BMW too which is (dare I say it?) better (NOW I'm in trouble)! Apart from a duff crankcase position sensor it's never let me down, but perhaps because it's getting old I just don't trust it on the longer Euro runs such as those I have planned for this year. It's also a bit too heavy and tippytoe for me, especially loaded up - I'm a shortie, and an old fogie.

I do love and would miss it's quirky engine and power delivery though. So, wanting to keep a Guzzi of some sort for UK runs, I rode over to Moto Corsa 2 weeks ago to try a V7 Special - and I loved it. Still distinctly a Guzzi but a bit lower and a lot lighter.

So is there anyone with a V7 on here looking to try a larger bike? Fancy a swap? Probably with money your way too. The one I liked best was a new (2017) V7 II with the old S-style orange slash across the tank, but the Classic looked great too, and ideally I want one with a screen and rack.

Anyone interested? Details of my Cali on request. I'm in Taunton.
