When one pops into a bike machanics workshop look in the corners there is often a chair, box or bucket this is where they go to sit when a customer comes in with a random electrical fault they sit there either sucking a thumb or in extreme cases muttering incoherently "Wibble wibble" before they "have a go" then call a specialist in ..... elektrikery especially a botched up loom gets them very nervous indeed Strong men falter and reach for the drink ..... Causes sharp intake of breath, heads rocking and all sorts of mutterings .... Strong men shudder ...... and dare not tread...but ..well you know the rest .....

I can feel the pain and aggravation as way back when I was in college in the late 60's as  lark I purchased a much used and abused 1956 MGA 1500. When I managed to actually drive it home the 30-40 miles and looked it over a lot more closely I found that the ONLY ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT in the entire car that worked was the ignition !! Not only was it the only circuit that worked but it was for all intents and purposes the only electrical wire still in existence as everything else had been pretty much burned to a crisp.. I wasn't out much as I only paid some $150 for the whole thing but the education a I got in rewiring the entire car was an experience I'll never forget.

When it was all said and done I kept blowing one of the only two fuses the electrical system had without a clue as to what the cause was. In a fit of pique I inserted a short piece of copper tubing into the fuse box and waited for the telltale smoke to appear. The stupid wiper motor finally confessed <G><G>

Considering that this was well before the internet, forums, You Tube, etc. it's amazing that I was able to source everything I did.
My body is old but my head isn't and I've been a gearhead since a very young age.

Current ride is a 2010 Griso 1200 8V
