My newly aquired Breva V1100 makes quite a racket with the clutch lever pulled in, also letting out the clutch there is a clanky "take up" sound as if there is too much slack in the system, is this normal?
The bike has only done 17.5K, and I know guzzis are a bit noisy in the clutch area having had a 2009 Norge a couple of years ago which had done over 40K but this new bike seams to create too much noise in my IMHO. Any ideas or comments welcome

Yes that's normal in all respects. Over on wildguzzi some folks say the B11 is the best guzzi all rounder ever. If you don't like the idle noise you could decat it, fit a free flow can then you'll just hear that awesome hemi roar.

There was a kit put out for early Breva gearboxes. A collection of washers that were inserted. I had mine done last year. It made some difference.

There is a set of domed washers (fitted back to back) on the input shaft which act as a spring for the cush drive. On some boxes they put in a pair to few which causes a heavy rattle when the engine is warm and idling in neutral.
Though Guzzi denied the possibilty, my Norge is in the same situation. |

Brian.
Better 5 minutes late in this world than years early in the next. |

Apparently so. At my local bikers haunt I got used to hearing the rattly clutch sound from Ducatis as they came and went, and now my Breva 1100 makes much the same sound.
